WATERTOWER EDITA EL SCORE DE RUPERT GREGSON-WILLIAMS PARA "AQUAMAN"

WaterTower Music is excited to announce today’s release of the soundtrack to Aquaman, the action-packed adventure film from director James Wan that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas. The soundtrack is now available, and the film is in theaters on December 21. Aquaman features an original score by multi-award-winning composer Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman, Hotel Rwanda, Hacksaw Ridge), includes a track by composer Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Annabelle) and debuts the new songs “Ocean To Ocean” by Pitbull Feat. Rhea, and the end title song Everything I Need” by Skylar Grey.

To bring the film’s themes to life musically, Aquaman director James Wan turned to composer Rupert Gregson-Williams, who says, “Writing the themes for the different characters was awesome. Arthur Curry has such a strong character—he’s a real rock star—so I felt he deserved a big melody. He gets to rock out for certain intense moments too. Orm is Atlantean, and the score I wrote for Atlantis is in big contrast to the score for the surface world, epic and glorious. Black Manta inspired a more industrial, electronic feel. And, of course, there’s romance—two in fact. Atlantis and the entire world James created is truly amazing, giving me such a rich opportunity.”

“James Wan has given me such a rare opportunity and I am so unbelievably grateful,” explains Skylar Grey. “James, score composer Rupert Gregson-Williams, as well as every person behind the scenes on this project has been a dream to work with...a team of extremely respectful and professional people who I’m now honored to call friends. ‘Everything I Need,’ written by myself and my fiancé, Elliott Taylor, was inspired by the forbidden love story that is threaded throughout the movie, and we are very passionate about this song.”

“The ocean, the sea and any body of water, to me, is true freedom,” said Armando Christian Perez (Pitbull), who was inspired by the film’s settings and themes, and especially by Aquaman’s struggle between his two worlds—the surface and the sea. “The ocean has always been the border from where my parents came from Cuba and the United States, which gives us freedom.  That’s why I respect water.  Bottom line: water gives us freedom.”

The track list is as follows:
  1. “Everything I Need (Film Version)” - Skylar Grey
  2. Arthur
  3. Kingdom Of Atlantis
  4. It Wasn't Meant To Be
  5. Atlantean Soldiers
  6. What Does That Even Mean?

From Warner Bros. The film reveals the origin story of half-surface dweller, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.

The film also stars Amber Heard; Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe; Patrick Wilson; Dolph Lundgren; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II; and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman.  Also featured are Ludi Lin and Temuera Morrison. WATERTOWER EDITA EL SCORE DE NITIN SAWHNEY PARA "MOWGLY: LEGEND OF THE JUNGLE"

WaterTower Music is pleased to announce today’s release of the original motion picture soundtrack for Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, the reinvention of Rudyard Kipling’s beloved masterpiece by acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis, in which a boy torn between two worlds accepts his destiny and becomes a legend. Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle will see a limited theatrical release from Nov. 29 in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and London, and will then be available globally on December 7, only on Netflix, and will have an expanded theatrical release in additional theaters in the U.S. and UK.

The film was scored by British composer, producer, album artist, club DJ, songwriter, broadcaster, multi-instrumentalist, orchestrator and cultural tastemaker Nitin Sawhney, who is recognized as one of the most distinctive and versatile musical voices around today, achieving an international reputation across every possible creative medium. Sawhney also wrote the original song “Changes” which appears in the film and on the soundtrack and is performed by singer / songwriter Kara Marni.

Nitin Sawhney discusses working on the film: “The challenge of creating a fresh musical vocabulary and theme that would entice us into Mowgli’s universe was irresistible. That Andy Serkis was directing made it an unforgettable experience in the waiting. Andy is nothing short of a genius. The stunning film, of stellar performances and endlessly epic scenes, scored itself.”

The director further elaborated on the collaboration. “As I was trying to search for (Mowgli’s) tone, its heart, its pulse and rhythm, I knew one thing in my heart. That I wanted my friend Nitin Sawhney, one of our generation’s greatest polymaths, an extraordinary voice in world music, to create the score for what was to hopefully become a visceral and immersive adaptation of Kipling’s work,” explains Serkis. “I knew that he would completely understand and empathize with Mowgli’s journey as an outsider who is trying to work out his place in two changing worlds. Being of Indian descent, yet having grown up in Britain, Nitin was perfectly in tune with the movie’s themes. We began to talk excitedly about creating an aural landscape that would bring jungle sounds and music together, weaving themes that spoke of a taught yearning soul, combined with a mythical journey towards destiny. And then, Nitin sent me Mowgli’s theme... it was one of the most beautifully haunting, uplifting and moving pieces of music I had ever heard, and it marked a huge turning point, an energy that brought the film to life. Nitin and his team of magicians had created its musical soul.”

Nitin Sawhney, amongst a multitude of international awards, holds six honorary doctorates and two fellowships from British universities and was awarded the Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. It was presented to him by his friend and collaborator Andy Serkis, for whom Sawhney also scored the true story romantic drama “Breathe” that same year.

WaterTower edita "The Meg" de Harry Gregson-Williams

WaterTower Music has announced today’s release of the soundtrack to the science fiction action thriller “The Meg,” directed by Jon Turteltaub (the “National Treasure” movies), which will be released in theaters August 10, 2018. The soundtrack features music from the film composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (“The Town,” the “Equalizer” films, the “Shrek” franchise), and will be released on August 3rd, one week before the film is in theaters.
Harry Gregson-Williams is one of Hollywood’s most sought-after composers, whose scores span the spectrum of high-profile projects from action to drama to animation – each infused with the emotional punch and atmospheric intensity that mark his distinctive musical style.  The Golden Globe- and Grammy Award-nominated composer offers, “For ‘The Meg,’ I set out to create a memorable recognizable sonic motif which follows the mystery of the great Megalodon—something robust in nature, which acted as a kind of warning call and instilled an immediate sense of fear and suspense when signaled.  In search of this sound, I stumbled upon the conch as an instrument of musical focus.  Its call was both distinctive and ancient, and I felt it offered a voice to the vast terror of a concealed underwater world.
“Working with Jon Turteltaub has been one of the most enjoyable collaborative experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of,” Gregson-Williams continued.  “He would arrive at my studio bringing with him the unbridled optimism and unique humor that only Jon possesses.  He regularly took the time to remind me that the film should always feel fun, exciting, and anticipatory, and encouraged me to direct that positive energy into the music at each step of the process.  In the end, I hope I was able to achieve an edge-of-your-seat score that helps the audience to immerse themselves in this dynamic feature film that Jon so masterfully created.”
About the Film
